There are several pieces of legislation that affect the storage, collection and recycling of waste batteries generated in the UK. Disposing of lead acid batteries must be done in accordance with these regulations to ensure that there is no negative impact on the environment.
The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009 implement the waste battery provisions of the EU Directive on Batteries and Accumulators and Waste Batteries and Accumulators. The regulations set out requirements for waste battery collection, treatment, recycling and disposal for all battery types.
We are an approved exporter of lead-acid batteries with transfrontier shipment (TFS) accreditation. Working on behalf of a major international battery manufacture, we export scrap car batteries to European smelters, where the lead is recovered and used in the manufacture of new automotive batteries.
All scrap lead-acid batteries pass through our network of packing hubs, where we carry out stringent quality control checks before they are exported to European smelters.
If you are looking to sell scrap car batteries, get in touch with our highly professional battery trading team to arrange a collection of scrap lead-acid batteries, or fill in our simple online collection form and a member of our team will get in touch.
